What is important to Ruby Slipper?
There are a lot of things you might think of when buying a new rug for your home, from size, colour and pattern, to how long until you can get it in your hands.
Here are some of the equally important areas that we maintain to guarantee high quality, ethically sourced and made product.
The trade of creating flatwoven products has been passed on through generations for thousands of years. With this trade being one of the only sources for income in these areas, it is not only important to protect it, but help the artisans grow and develop their skills into successful businesses.
We often visit the small hamlets and work with the craftsmen and women to develop new products and designs, pushing this industry forward.
Child labour isn’t something you wouldn’t think to be an issue in this modern-day, however, is still extremely important to assure in the manufacturing process. We carefully select the artisans and communities that we work with to ensure that there is no child labour, this is of paramount importance to us.
It is our goal to help drive revenue away from any child labour and remove it as an option for any business.
We believe here at Ruby Slipper that furniture is more than just something that makes your room look nice or feel warm. It is a story. This is one of the fundamental reasons for us starting.
The story behind our artisans along with their process becomes a key selling point. You aren’t just buying a rug.
Which would you prefer; a mass-produced product that is one of the millions or a handmade, passion-infused item that is one in a million?
With the nature and intricacy of our products, it is easy to see how things can be missed. This is an issue that we wanted to eliminate from the start.
It is our goal to offer the highest quality products to our customers. We achieve this through our professional artisans and rigorous quality control processes.
You are purchasing something that will be in your life for years to come, it’s important that we supply you with the best that it can be.
